$40,000 gets you Samsung’s 85″ 4K TV

Remember that 85″ 4K TV from Samsung we told you about in January? Yeah, turns out it’s not really gonna ship with a bargain basement price. Pre-orders for Samsung’s S9 (formerly called the UN85S9) are starting, but you might wanna note the price tag before you Add Item to Cart: $39,999. Besides 85 inches of Ultra High Definition resolution, you’ll also get Samsung’s Precision Black Pro and a proprietary upscaler for UHD. If you can still afford to have friends over (Saltines and water anyone?), you’ll also have a sweet conversation piece due to the S9’s unique standing frame; a frame that also houses a 3.2-channel, 120-watt speaker system. The set will also be able to receive voice commands via its built-in microphone and Samsung’s Voice Interaction, part of Samsung’s Smart Hub makeover. And if you think dropping $40,000 on a TV guarantees at least a few years of being king of the tech hill, nope: Samsung’s 95″ and 110″ sets are coming soon.
