Netflix partnering with Dreamworks for original cartoon series

It’s like “House of Cards” for kids! Well, not really, but there is more original content on the way for Netflix subscribers. Netflix is teaming up with DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. for “Turbo: F.A.S.T. (Fast Action Stunt Team)”, a new series based on DreamWorks’ upcoming movie, “Turbo.” The show’s about a snail who gets the power of super speed after being caught in a freak accident (not based on a true story). It debuts exclusively in December on Netflix. The film, starring Ryan Reynolds, opens in theaters July 19. Any previous claims that Netflix lacked sufficient children’s programming have certainly been put to rest in recent months. In December, Netflix announced a mega deal with Disney which has already resulted in the addition of dozens of movies and shows to the streaming service. Major Disney film releases are headed to Netflix in 2016.
