5.1 surround system? Child, please. 7.1? That’s so 2005. Make room for LG’s BH9420PW, a 9.1 Home Theater in a Box system that also features their proprietary 3D Sound Zooming technology. LG says 3D Sound Zooming works to constantly synchronize the sound output with the location and movement of the on-screen 3D images on one of their Cinema 3D Smart TVs. The result is apparently like being smothered in a sea of silky, sumptuous sound. OK, they didn’t exactly say that– I did. But with four upright 3D speakers in addition to the typical 5.1 setup, LG is promising to fill the final frontier of living room space with sound: the vertical. No price has been announced, but a March release date is on the table.
