Sony’s next entry into handheld gaming and multimedia goodness, the very pretty and actually-not-that-pricey PlayStation Vita, now has an official release date: February 22, 2012. Two models will be available on that Wednesday, a Wi-Fi enabled version at $249, and a 3G/Wi-Fi model for $299. The device features a snazzy 5-inch OLED screen, dual analog sticks, dual cameras, and front and rear touch panels, among other niceties. Some big name games are on the way for the portable powerhouse, including new iterations of Activision’s Call of Duty, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted. The Vita will also have built-in apps for Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and Foursquare.
