Amazon signs streaming deal with FOX

Amazon has just announced a deal that will add FOX titles to their Instant Streaming service this fall. TV shows from the FOX library include The Wonder Years (available in digital form for the first time), Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, and 24. Movie titles include Office Space, Speed, Mrs. Doubtfire and Last of the Mohicans, as well as some older titles such as 9 to 5 and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Amazon already has digital distribution deals with CBS, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. and Sony. The company says they will have over 11,000 titles available to stream once the FOX deal kicks in. Their Instant Video service is part the company’s “Prime” membership plan offering free two-shipping on most items. The membership costs $79 per year.
