Today Walmart announced "full integration" of its VUDU movie service, offering customers thousands of titles for purchase or rental. The titles can be streamed from VUDU.com, Walmart.com, or through VUDU-supported devices such as Blu-ray players and certain HDTVs. Walmart says VUDU is now supported on over 300 devices.
It's no easy pickins' this week with a lack of Blockbuster films or must-have classics in the lineup. Although you might consider a few of the titles "great films," whether or not their "greatness" warrants a purchase is up in the air. For the most part, we rank all the titles this week as Blu-ray rentals rather than purchases with the exception of "Stargate Atlantis: Complete Series Gift Set."
With a total run time of 386 minutes on 4 discs, Amazon is offering the Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set on Blu-ray for $27.49. The price reflects a 50% markdown from the list price of $54.99. Over 20 bonus features include featurettes such as "The Art of War: Completing RAMBO," "Afghanistan: Land in Crisis," and "The Weaponry of Rambo."
If you're a Comcast customer in Houston, you'll be happy to know the company has added seven HD channels. According to The Houston Chronicle, BBC America (Ch. 730), Big Ten Network (Ch. 707), Galavision (Ch. 650), Nat Geo Wild (Ch. 687), Outdoor Channel (Ch. 708), Oxygen (Ch. 718), and PBS Kids Sprout (Ch. 740), are now part of the high-definition lineup.
