Panasonic announced a 7.83oz digital camera called the LUMIX G3 that features lots of additional goodies beyond standard camera capabilities including 3D photos, 1080/60i HD video, and interchangeable lenses (Panasonic’s smallest model yet). The LUMIX G3 stores to a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor through Panasonic’s Venus Engine FHD image processor — which also helps with noise in low lighting situations. There’s a variety of lenses to choose from for the LUMIX G3 in the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) class, and with an optional mount you can also use Four Thirds System sized lenses. The body color, if you care about that sort of thing, will be available in black, white, red or brown. The LUMIX G3 with 14mm lens is scheduled to ship in July, while the camera with 14-42mm zoom lens will ship in August. The kits will retail for $699.99 and $599, respectively.
