In case you haven’t noticed online retailer Amazon.com has started offering a free digital rental when you purchase certain Blu-ray Discs and DVDs. It’s a great way to try out Amazon’s Video On Demand service which works on PCs, Macs, compatible HDTVs and other devices.
Some titles we found that qualify for the free rental include Inception, True Blood Seasons 1 & 2, and Robin Hood: Unrated Director’s Cut. Look for the green chicklet that reads “Disc +” for qualifying DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. To see an example, follow this link to Inception 2-Disc Edition on Blu-ray.
The free-of-charge rentals will expire 24 hours after you begin watching. You’ll be able to find the title in Your Video Library in your Amazon account for up until 60 days after your disc purchase.
