PlayStation has officially launched its new community forum which boasts a new and improved design, better forum management by official PlayStation team moderators, microblogging capabilities and homepage personalization. While the PlayStation team made the improvements to enhance user experience, complaints about the new layout have already started hitting the forum. One PlayStation user says it’s “really really hard to find things now” while another says “….i cant find squat.”
Granted, new interfaces generally take getting used to. The new PlayStation Community website can now be more likened to a social web experience rather than traditional discussion board.
Some of the hotter topics in the community ask about “The ability to change PSN IDs and usernames,” “The ability to install disc-based games on your hard drive like xbox360,” and “How to edit original posts.”
Specifically regarding the upgrade, many users have been confused about where to find older posts. To find the old “board” you first go the main page of the PlayStation Community. From there you’ll see “Community Spaces” in the top right column. Just click on the topic you want to explore to get to sub-topics of that topic.
If you want to add a new topic, look next to your username, click New, then click Discussion. Full details on the homepage and your view can be found in this topic. http://community.us.playstation.com/message/30813052#30813052
