Medal of Honor multiplayer open beta announced

Electronic Arts will launch a Medal of Honor open beta on October 4, allowing anyone to play the game in demo mode for a total of days until midnight on October 7 (Pacific Time). In the beta, you’ll be able to sample two diverse maps that include Kunar Base and Shahikot Mountains. Both maps pit teams of 12 against each other, for a total 24 players.

The open beta will allow you to play in two different modes: Sector Control multiplayer mode at Kunar Base where two sides fight to control tactical sectors of the map; and Combat Mission multiplayer mode in the Shahikot Mountains where gamers battle through a series of objectives to defeat the opposing team.

For the first time, Medal of Honor will be set in a different time period than World War II — bringing us into a modern day Afghanistan.

Frank Gibeau, President of EA Games had this to say about the upcoming game, “The Medal of Honor franchise has always shown extraordinary reverence for American and Allied soldiers — this game is no exception.”

Developed by DICE, Medal of Honor multiplayer officially launches on Oct. 12, 2010 for Windows PCs. To find out more including system recommendations visit the Medal of Honor Open Beta website.
