An aggressive marketing campaign from Toshiba which promises 5 Free HD DVDs when you purchase any HD DVD player launched March 1, 2007. Previously, manufacturers had offered one disc with the purchase of a hi def player. For example last fall Toshiba offered Universal Studio’s King Kong title with the purchase of an Xbox 360 add on HD DVD player. On the Blu-ray side, but only outside the U.S., Sony is offering the latest Bond film Casino Royal with the purchase of a PS3 player.
This is a great value, approximately $100 worth of DVD’s, and they actually include movies that you would want to see in hi def. Some of the titles in the offer include Apollo 13, Constantine, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, We Were Soldiers, and Seabiscuit. This promotion ends 7/31/07, so there is plenty of time to save up for that HD DVD player.
