If you thought 3D was going away you might find an argument from Sony, Discovery and IMAX who are loading up 3net with 3D programming on DIRECTV next month. The joint venture calls December “the Most Ambitious Rollout of 3D Programming in Television History” with over 50 hours of new 3D programming slated for airing. Some highlights for December include the 3D documentary “Madagascar: The Lost Makay,” extreme fighting in 3D with “Beatdown: Bamma USA Fight Night,” and “Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure” which looks at the Earth’s Cretaceous period in 3D. “We’ve got something for everyone in the family to enjoy,” says Tom Cosgrove, President & CEO of 3net. Unfortunately, 3net is currently only available to families with DirecTV (on Channel 107). Check out 3net’s December highlights below.
