Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ releasing to 4k Blu-ray & Limited Edition 4k SteelBook

The-Shining-4k-Blu-ray Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall is releasing to 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray with HDR. The newly remastered edition has been dated for an October 1, 2019 release and arrives in a 2-disc combo edition with 4k Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and Digital Copy (in 4k UHD where available).

The 4k Blu-ray edition of The Shining from Warner Home Media is available to order for $24.99 from Best Buy (Note: Amazon still has it priced at the MSRP of $41.99 but will charge the lowest price upon ship date. We expect it to drop soon to $24.99.)

The Shining 4k Blu-ray SteelBook

The classic horror title will also release to a Limited Edition SteelBook (pictured above) available in the US at Best Buy stores. The cover features a maze illustration constructed from the movie’s famous quote “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

The special SteelBook edition of The Shining arrives simultaneously with the common edition on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and is sold for $29.99 at Best Buy.

Special features on the Blu-ray Disc include The Making of the Shining, The Visions of Stanley Kubrick, Video from the Overlook, and reflecting on the musical scores with composer Wendy Carlos.

Subtitles are provided in multiple languages and include SDH in English, German and Italian.
