How is it that Netflix can add so many titles every month? Well, it could be the company is expected to spend $15B this year on content. And, quite a bit of it is available in Ultra HD. We’ve updated our list of 4k titles on Netflix for those who subscribe to the premium subscription (now $15.99 per mo.) and have a 4k TV or device that supports HDR.
Some of these titles feature HDR either in HDR10 or Dolby Vision. HDR type may depend on your device. For example, new series like Love, Death & Robots, Turn Up Charlie, and The OA plays in HDR10 or Dolby Vision depending on the device.
From the newest titles added we suggest checking out first seasons of Netflix original series Afterlife, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, The Order, Turn Up Charlie starring Idris Elba, and The Umbrella Academy (read our review here), as well as BBC series The Hunt. For movies, the Netflix Original Triple Frontier has an all-star cast that includes Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal.
And, did you know you the 1998 film Godzilla starring Matthew Broderick is now on Netflix in 4k? OK, so it’s not that great of a film. But, the shots of Godzilla look better than ever in Ultra HD. The new addition comes just as Godzilla (1998) was released to 4k Blu-ray.
