Comcast has a couple dozen programming contracts expiring in the month of December, including popular national networks such as CNN, CNN en Español, RTN, TNT and TruTV. On the local broadcast side, there are deals that need to be renewed with FOX (KAYU) Spokane, NBC (KVOA) Tucson, and NBC (KSBY) San Luis Obispo, among others.
If new or extended distribution deals aren’t met, Comcast Xfinity TV customers may lose those channels as well as any multicast signals associated with the stations.
Comcast says they “fully expect” to reach an agreement with the owners of those channels before they expire. However, customers should be aware there is a possibility the contracts may not be renewed or extended with those national channels and local stations.
