Hulu made several announcements today one of which is the launch of Hulu Documentary Films led by the streaming on-demand acquisition of Ron Howard’s upcoming documentary The Beatles: Eight Days A Week.
The film (still utilizing a working title) will follow The Beatles phenomenon between the years of 1962 and 1966, including their early days playing at The Cavern Club in Liverpool and their last concert in 1966 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.
The Beatles: Eight Days A Week will launch exclusively on Hulu following the film’s theatrical premiere this fall. The licensing deal marks a first between Hulu and Apple Corps Ltd.
Hulu also announced they would be distributing a second season of the drama series The Path, as well as a fifth season of the comedy series The Mindy Project. And, for this year’s election time Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog will return with Triumph’s Election Special 2016.
Other Hulu originals include the dramas Shut Eye, Chance and The Handmaid’s Tale.
