Sony has released pricing and availability of their new Premium 4K HDR Ultra HD TV models, all of which are now available to pre-order and will begin shipping nationwide starting in March.
The X850D series will be available in 55″, 65″, 75″, and 85″ class sizes ranging in price from $2,499 (55″) up to $9,999 (85″).
Sony’s higher-end X930D series were designed in 55″ and 65″ class sizes and will list for $3,299 and $4,999, respectively. And, their X940D-series 75″ class 4k TV will carry an MSRP of $7,999.
The new premium 4k sets support HDR content and feature Sony’s 4K Processor X1 advanced image engine with a TRILUMINOS display.
In addition, the X930D and X940D series feature Slim Backlight Drive technology with X-tended Dynamic Range PRO.
With Smart TV integration, the premium 4k Ultra HD TVs from Sony run on the Google Android TV operating system.
To watch HDR content, Sony points to Amazon TV shows that support HDR including “The Man in the High Castle,” “Transparent”, and “Mozart in the Jungle,” as well as feature films “After Earth,” “Fury,” “Salt,” and “Elysium.”
