Google Play has a couple dozen movies that are available to rent in HD for just .99 cents. But while many are obscure titles that never had wide distribution, they do have Swedish film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) based on the novel by Swedish author Stieg Larsson, as well as The Girl Who Played With Fire (2010) and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest – Original Version (2010) all available to rent for . 99 cents in HD.
The three make up the “Millennium” trilogy from creator Larsson, the final of which — The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest — became the most sold book in the United States in 2010 (Publishers Weekly).
Other films currently available to rent for .99 cents in HD from Google Play include the comedy Zoolander, the animated feature Back to the Jurassic, the independent film Day of the Falcon starring Antonio Banderas and Freida Pinto, and the documentary The Art of Walking among the dozen or so titles on sale.
