Lionsgate has announced the upcoming epic film Gods of Egypt will release to IMAX 3D when it releases to US theaters and select international cinemas on February 26th. The film has been digitally re-mastered for the immersive The IMAX Experience with the company’s proprietary IMAX DMR technology.
“We’re delighted to extend our partnership with IMAX to release Gods of Egypt in the uniquely immersive IMAX format that will showcase its spectacular visual effects and help create a major motion picture event for audiences around the world,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger.
“We always strive to provide IMAX fans with entertaining content year round, and we believe Gods of Egypt fits the bill,” said Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment.
Other films slated for release to IMAX 3D theaters include The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016) and Deepwater Horizon (2016).
