HBO Now launches on Amazon Fire tablets, Fire TV & Stick coming soon

hbo-now-logo-1200-80Amazon’s Fire tablets now support HBO Now, the premium network’s over-the-top streaming service that does not require a subscription from a TV provider. The service costs $14.99 per month with full access to HBO programming, including hit shows like Game of Thrones and True Detective, as well as live broadcasts, movies, and other content on demand.

Amazon also announced the service would be available on Amazon Fire TV and the Fire TV Stick in the coming weeks.

HBO Now first launched on Apple TV and Cablevision at the beginning of April, 2015, just in time for the premiere of the fifth season of Game of Thrones. The service is now available on Android Fire tablets, iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Apple TV, and soon Fire TV and Chromecast.

“Amazon has cultivated an incredibly vast and savvy base of customers that we’re excited to provide with unlimited access to all of HBO through HBO Now,” said Bernadette Aulestia, Executive Vice President, Global Distribution Operations, HBO.

“If there’s one thing Fire TV and Fire tablet customers are telling us, it’s that they love to watch their favorite movies and TV shows,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Appstore.
