SyFy to premiere mini-series ‘Ascension’ over three nights

SyFy will premiere the science fiction mini-series Ascension starting Monday, December 15, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The series will take place over three consecutive nights, for a total run time of approximately six hours. On Wednesday, December 17th, SyFy will air all three episodes in sequence starting at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Ascension is based on a fictitious, secret space mission launched by the U.S. government in 1963 to save mankind. The mission involved sending hundreds of humans on a century-long voyage to populate a new world. But half way through the voyage, a young woman is murdered aboard the starship and things start to unravel.

Ascension was written by Adrian Cruz who wrote the screenplay for Splinter. Cast members include Al Sapienza, Tricia Helfer, P.J. Boudousqué, Tiffany Lonsdale, and Brad Carter.

The series’ website includes an interactive timeline with which you can see key events that happened from 1963 through 2015.
