‘Star Wars Rebels’ to Premiere Early for Disney XD Users

The premiere episode of Disney’s new animated series Star Wars Rebels will be available earlier than expected for Watch Disney authenticated users. The 60-minute episode, titled “Star Wars: Spark of the Rebellion,” will air Friday, September 26 for authenticated WATCH Disney XD users through the WATCH Disney XD app for tablets, smartphones, and connected TVs, as well as on WATCHDisneyXD.com. This is a full three days earlier than Disney originally scheduled the exclusive access.

Authenticating TV providers for the WATCH Disney XD channel include AT&T U-verse, Charter, Comcast Xfinity, Cablevision Optimum, Cox, DISH, MidContinent, and Verizon FiOS.

The actual global television premiere date for Star Wars Rebels is Friday, October 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT  on Disney Channel. However, the show will move to Disney XD on Monday, October 13 at the same time.

Simon Kinberg is the creator of Star Wars Rebels that takes place between Episode III and IV of the Star Wars saga. The series follows the Empire’s rise to power and attempts to rid the galaxy of Jedi Knights.
