Netflix adds six European countries including France & Germany

orange is the new blackOver the last week Netflix added six European countries to the list of international markets it serves, including France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Netflix says their potential reach in those markets surpasses 63 million households that have broadband internet service.

The basic Netflix streaming service is priced at EUR 7,99 per month in France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg. In Switzerland, the service starts at CHF 11,90 per month. As with other markets, Netflix offers a free one-month trial in each of the countries.

Some of the titles streaming exclusively on Netflix across the new European markets include the television series From Dusk Till Dawn, Penny Dreadful, Orange is The New Black, the new animated comedy Bojack Horseman. The series Fargo (inspired by the 1996 Oscar-winning film) that stars Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman, and Martin Freeman is also available in the new markets.

“We’ve received a very warm welcome throughout Europe,” said Reed Hastings, Netflix co-founder and chief executive officer. He added, “Consumers love choice – in series and films and in when and where they watch.”
