Every month Vudu selects a list of movies that are sold for $7.88 each in HD or HDX format (or $5 in SD). This month is no exception, with 34 movies currently on sale in HD and HDX quality. A few choice selections in the action genre include the Harrison Ford thriller Firewall (2006), Unknown (2010) starring Liam Neeson with Diane Kruger and January Jones, and Hollywood Homicide (2003) starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett.
In the comedy genre the Vudu sale includes titles such as Can’t Hardly Wait (1998) with Jennifer Love Hewitt, Miss Congeniality (2000) starring Sandra Bullock with Michael Caine and Benjamin Bratt, and Spike Lee’s School Daze starring Laurence Fishburne (1988).
HDX is the highest video quality Vudu offers at 1080p (1920 x 1080) lines with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound. The company also offers a slightly inferior 720p (720 x 1280p) video resolution, also with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound if available.
Vudu movies are accessible via web browser on Mac or PC, mobile app for tablets and phones, apps for connected Smart TVs and Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and the Roku streaming media player.
