Looking for a price break on a top-brand 4k TV? Sony has cut the price of most XBR Ultra HD TVs available in their online store. In fact, 8 out of the 10 models have a strike through the list-price, with discounts of at least $1k on several top-of-the-line sets. You can save a grand on the 79-inch X900B, 65-inch X900B, 55-inch X900B, 65-inch X850B, and 55-inch X850B models. The biggest price break we found was on the 55-inch XBR X850A that’s on sale for $2,299 from $4,499 (a discount of $2,200). The only sets that are not on sale are Sony’s flagship 65-inch and 85-inch X950B models, priced at $7,999 and $24,999, respectively. Of course, many of the Sony XBR 4k TVs are available at other retailers, and, in some cases for less than what Sony is selling them for. But clearly, Sony would like to move some of their stock of 4k TVs sooner than later.
