Everyone’s favorite vampire series returns June 22, for one final season. With fairies, vampires, werewolves, witches and more, it can be tough to keep track of what happened to whom week after week, let alone a year later. Here’s everything you need to know to be ready for this season’s premiere of True Blood.
If you haven’t caught up to the season 6 finale yet, there are plenty of spoilers below. In fact, it’s all spoilers.
Warlow, the fairy vampire that saved Sookie from her parents by murdering them, was killed by Jason after he tried to turn Sookie into a vampire.
Pam left Tara in charge of Fangtasia to track down Eric, whose brief immunity to sunlight literally backfired on him when Warlow – the source of the immunity – died. We last saw Eric in the middle of nowhere going up in flames.
Merlotte’s bar and grill is now owned by Arlene Bellefleur, who is mourning the loss of husband Terry.
Hepatitis V – the disease that weakens and eventually kills vampires, is spreading without a cure. With the TruBlood factory destroyed, vampires are pairing with humans they meet at ‘socials’ to form symbiotic relationships at the behest of Bill, who has become a writer and public figure.
In the final scene of Seaon 6’s finale, Sookie and Alcide are approached by Bill who offers to be her protection. The scene is interrupted by the appearance of a group of Hepatitis-V infected vampires who surround the social, clearly anticipating a feast. Will it be a bloodbath? Tune into HBO this Sunday at 6pm EST to find out!
