Netflix has announced a new original series titled “Grace and Frankie” starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin will premiere next next year. The first season of the comedy series will consist of 13 half-hour episodes shot in “single-camera” that will be available globally to Netflix subscribers.
When two women who were former rivals (Grace played by Jane Fonda, and Frankie played by Lily Tomlin), learn that their husbands are planning to get married to each other, the two find their lives turned upside down.
The show will be written and created by Marta Kauffman (“Friends”) and Howard J. Morris (“Sullivan & Son”) and will be produced by Skydance Productions.
“Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are among the funniest and most formidable actresses ever and it’s an incredible privilege to give them the opportunity to run riot on Netflix,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.
