Time Warner Cable deal with Viacom adds EPIX channel

A new long-term multiplatform deal struck between cable TV provider Time Warner Cable and Viacom includes distribution of the premium channel Epix among previously carried networks. This great news for TWC subscribers, who will now be able to get Epix for the first time. The agreement also includes TV Everywhere initiatives that bring programming to PCs, smartphones and tablets both in and out-of-home. As well as Time Warner Cable, the deal with Viacom networks also includes Bright House Networks.

In addition, the distribution agreement includes on-demand content served via apps for Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, CMT, and Comedy Central on both Android and iOS platforms.

Viacom networks, which reach approximately 700 million subscribers worldwide, include MTV, VH1, CMT, Logo, BET, CENTRIC, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., TeenNick, Nicktoons, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, TV Land, SPIKE, Tr3s, Paramount Channel and VIVA.

Popular movies playing on Epix include titles such as The Hunger Games, Skyfall, World War Z and Star Trek: Into Darkness. The agreement includes both SD and HD versions of the programming from Viacom.
