‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Extended Trailer Released

Warner Bros. has released a new extended trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hitting theaters on December 13, 2013. The film is part-two of the planned trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, adapted from the book by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will release to RealD 3D, HFR 3D, IMAX 3D, and 2D theaters worldwide. The new three minute trailer gives us a few more hints about about the storyline, as well as some action sequences not seen in the last trailer.

In the ‘The Desolation of Smaug,’ Bilbo (played by Martin Freeman) has gained possession of the One Ring, and along with Gandalf and the 13 dwarfs journeys to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. ‘The Desolation of Smaug’ also stars Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.
