This morning the first season of New Girl starrring Zooey Deschanel was added to the Netflix streaming library, giving subscribers access to all 24 episodes of the show. Netflix has become the exclusive video subscription carrier of the show, and will also stream subsequent seasons. In March, FOX renewed a third season of New Girl which will premiere on September 17, 2013.
“New Girl has proven to be the biggest breakout sitcom hit of the season and we are thrilled to be able offer it so quickly to our U.S. subscribers,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.
New Girl is a Golden Globe-nominated show that stars as Zooey Deschanel Jess, a quirky single girl who moves in with three guys after a breakup.
The multi-year deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television was announced this morning.
