Skyfall quietly slipped in for pre-orders around Thanksgiving, while the country waited in lines for Black Friday deals. The title from Twentieth Century Fox will be the 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. It appears the Blu-ray edition will come in a slipcase (see pic), which indicates a combo package with Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy. One might wonder if Skyfall will also be offered in a single-disc version, which might be removed from the case and inserted into the Bond 50 Complete Collection (packaged with one empty slot for the 23rd film). The DVD release is less exciting (see pic below), packaged in a traditional black DVD case. There doesn’t appear to be an UltraViolet copy bundled with this release (although Sony is a UV partner), but you could certainly store your digital copy in the cloud if you wanted to. Release date has yet to be confirmed by Twentieth Century Fox (and Amazon doesn’t give a date), but it’s believed the title will hit shelves on Mar 12, 2013.
