‘The Avengers’ gets September Blu-ray/3D release date

Will The Avengers still be #1 at the box office come September? Perhaps not, but we have a hunch it'll instantly dominate home video sales when the Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and DVD versions of the film are released on 9/25/12. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is expected to be $39.99, with the Blu-ray 3D set at $49.99. The exact details on the Disney release aren't official, but the extras will reportedly include audio commentary by director Joss Whedon; Disney's Second Screen; Assembling the Ultimate Team; A Visual Journey; Gag Reel; Item 47 (Marvel One-Shot Short Film); 9 Deleted/Extended Scenes; and Soundgarden's Live to Rise Music Video.
