Amazon isn’t just going to sit back and watch local deal websites like Groupon enjoy unchallenged success. The biggest online retailer announced they will promote AmazonLocal.com by offering $10 gift cards for $5 on Tuesday, March 20. The $5 break on the gift card is meant to attract new customers to the Amazon site, which offers daily deals on spas, framing, restaurants and other local services. Amazon didn’t say exactly how many $10 gift certs they’d be giving away on Tuesday, only that they have “limited quantities.” So, you might want to get in on the deal earlier than later.
