Netflix and Fox ink distribution deal

As well as adding titles from Universal to their library, Netflix has also announced a distribution deal with Twentieth Century Fox. The agreement covers digital and disc media formats for both television shows and motion pictures. Instant streaming for Fox TV shows, with some available as entire seasons, is a first for Netflix.

New TV content available in streaming format from Fox includes 24, Bones, Lie to Me and King of the Hill. Other hit shows include Prison Break, Arrested Development and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Motion pictures from Fox include Aliens, The Thin Red Line, Romancing the Stone and Patton — all of which will be available to stream instantly. Other films and TV content will be added through the deal.

Like the Universal agreement, the license places a 28-day window for new titles during which time Netflix cannot distribute the titles.
