Comcast now offering 500 HD choices

Comcast announced today it reached 500 choices in high-definition (HD) on its network and is adding more video-on-demand (VOD) and over 150 hours of HD television shows from Showtime, Encore, MoviePlex and Starz.

Titles that will available in high-definition include: “Dexter,” “The Tudors”, “Weeds”, Casino Royale and Babel (Showtime); Meet the Robinsons, Ratatouille, Déjà vu, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Spider-Man 3 (Starz); Dazed and Confused, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, Cry-Baby and Field of Dreams (MoviePlex); and Jumanji, Pulp Fiction, Step Up, Dirty Dancing and The Guardian (Encore).

Derek Harrar, Senior VP and GM of Video Services for Comcast said, “We’re working with top premium channels like Showtime and Starz to add hundreds of entertainment options in the categories consumers say they want the most…HD movies and television shows.”
