If you’ve been holding off on buying Samsung’s 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray player because the $399 list price, now may be the time to finally pick one up. We’ve seen the UBD-K8500 for as low as $349 at Costco, taking into account a $30 manufacturer’s instant rebate minus the normal $379 price for Costco members.
Fry’s Electronics and Amazon have also discounted the UBD-K8500, down to $367 for an undetermined time. If you’re lucky enough to be one of the 27 states where Amazon doesn’t collect tax, and are also a Prime member, this is actually the cheapest place to get the player (considering Costco will charge tax).
Best Buy is also now selling the Samsung UBD-K8500 for less than the SRP. They’ve got it for $369, but of course there will be sales tax.
Philips is the only other electronics manufacturer making a 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray player (more details on the Philips BDP7501 here). Panasonic’s DMP-UB900 is expected to ship in September but with a much higher suggested retail price of $699.
