
Sony already has a couple home theater projectors that support HDR, but a firmware update to the VPL-VW365ES coming by the end of next month (May, 2016) will upgrade the projector to display High Dynamic Range content.
The Sony projector features 1,500 ANSI lumen brightness, HDMI2.0/HDCP2.2 compatibility, TRILUMINOS technology for vibrant colors, and true SXRD (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display) panels.
And, the projector displays 3D content with a built-in RF 3D transmitter to transmit to industry-standard 3D glasses.
TheVPL-VW365ES was first introduced at CEDIA 2015 and carries an MSRP of $9,999.
In case you were wondering, the Sony projectors that already support HDR include the pricey VPL-VW5000ES ($60k) and VPL-VW665ES ($14,999), both available at Sony.com.
