Google Play wants your business. The online service is offering one movie rental of your choice for just .99 cents. Users can choose any title from the Google Play library, and select either SD, HD or 4k UHD resolution if available.
Most titles in the Google Play library are eligible for the discount, even new releases such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Moana, Split, Underworld: Blood Wars, Hidden Figures, Sing, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and La La Land among others.
However, the number of titles available in 4k UHD is limited. Of the new movies listed above only Underworld: Blood Wars and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them can be streamed in 4k. But Google is quietly adding new 4k content. Here’s an extended list of movies available from Google Play in 4k UHD.
Titles rented from Google can either be streamed or watched offline. Supporting devices include phones, tablets, PCs, and other devices running the Google Play app. If you’re looking to rent a title in 4k, supporting devices include the Chromecast Ultra streaming media player and select UHD Android TVs.
The discount gets applied upon checkout. Google is offering the movie rental offer through July 7, 2017.
