The action thriller Heist starring Robert De Niro has been released straight to home video, bypassing any wide theatrical releases in the US. Some online reviewers say they wish the film could have been seen on the big screen, while others call it more of a Netflix film — one that they wouldn’t pay $10 to see in theaters.
Perhaps Lionsgate could have thought of a more original name for the film. After all, Heist (2001) from director David Mamet starring Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito wasn’t exactly a bomb, earning $8M during its opening weekend.
Nevertheless, Heist can be rented from most online video services including Apple iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon Instant Video. Here’s a price comparison of rental options.
