Residents of the greater Augusta, Georgia area now have the option of television services and up to 390 channels from AT&T U-verse. The service also includes high speed internet (up to 45Mbps download) and AT&T Voice services in the area. New customers who sign up before April 14 may quality for a $100 reward card.
The new services are part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP (VIP) that’s an expansion of AT&T’s IP and mobile data networks. Project VIP will extend the U-verse IP network to approximately 57 million customer locations by the end of 2015, AT&T says. As such, the company will continue to roll out services to additional local cities and neighborhoods in upcoming months.
“We’re honored to bring our innovative services to Augustacustomers. Local residents have asked for more TV service choices and today we’re delivering,” said Keith Holmes, AT&T vice president and general manager – Georgia/South Carolina.
AT&T also plans to upgrade U-verse High Speed Internet to speeds of up to 100 Mbps over the next several years.
