If you’re a horror film fan with a Roku media player you’ll be happy to know the newly launched channel FrightPIX is now available to stream free-of-charge. The ad-supported channel (the second from Screen Media Ventures) features over 100 horror genre films at launch, with about 30 new films planned to be added every month. FrightPIX’s app for Roku is available to download from the Roku Channel Store.
“The horror genre is a great niche with many devoted fans, and we expect the channel to be extremely popular,” said Gary Delfiner , President of Screen Media Digital.
Roku streaming media players start at $49. The players allow owners to access subscriptions to services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, NBA League Pass, and HBO GO, as well as rent or purchase movies and TV shows.
Roku players support up to 1080p video (depending on device and content provider), Dolby Digital Surround Sound, Wi-Fi, and free apps for iOS/Android.
