  1. I have the Apple TV app. Thus far it’s worked but it cannot compare in any way, shape or form to an Amazon TV Fire Stick. Trying to get subtitles on the Apple TV screen is impossible. I know how to choose subtitles and when I go back to the screen I’m watching, they are not there. It also cannot compare to the Fire Stick in that I can verbally call up what I want to see. On Apple TV screen I must enter the titles manually with a remote.
Apple TV needs to come into the 21 century. For a company that makes great computers and phones, they are seriously lacking in the streaming category.

    • When watching a show, gesture down on the remote’s trackpad. Turn on subtitles by tapping on it.

Press the Siri button on the remote and speak. It will search for what you ask for.

  2. I’ve had Sling TV for over 3 years with some xtras and couldn’t be happier. My bill is less than $70 a month with orange & blue plus showtime, nfl redzone, and several other xtras. Many rentals available. And with digital antenna I get 12 local over the air channels…..nothing I find beats Sling…..

  3. The Apple TV is $5 a month and you can download apps for just about any channel you like for free but if you want to actually watch something you have to pay $5 to $20 bucks per channel.

I wish Apple TV would do like 20 channels of your choice for $20 a month and include Apple TV as well. That would be worth it but $5 dollars an app for a few shows and a couple of movies is way too much.

  4. Not sure why the title is apple tv channels.
When all they are is just apps which you have to subscribe to.
Just another “netflix” based app that trying to come out with.
    Very confusing to ppl.
Still better to get a fire stick with internet..
So many free options out there.

  5. I’m in a debate in weather or not to do Apple TV would I be able to watch live tv if I would get it that’s one thing I would like to know before I decide to get it

  6. So far appleTV sucks! If you watch any standard station like Fox News that provides live streaming you have to pay for each app separately. If You watch several stations and you download the apps your bill is back up above $70… $4.99 now seems like a joke!

    • No you don’t. You’re completely wrong. You do know that Apple TV app is an app. You can download other apps for free just so we have to pay for subscriptions but some are completely free like Pluto TV for example. So get your facts straight before you confuse people.

      • Andrew instead of being so hostile, could you just explain how it works? No need to be mean just because we don’t understand how it works. I’m sure there are things you don’t know and would want to be treated with respect when you ask for help.

    • Absolutely not! These are just the channels you can subscribe to. The only content you get with Apple TV+ is the original shows. Maybe someday they will include some channels or bundle with premiums. However, some app channels do give some free content – like 1st episodes. But most will require a subscription or authentication through a TV service provider.

    • No on both questions. You can get live shows On Demand though with some channels, but only after airing. Perhaps someday Apple will integrate more Live TV and DVR options.
