Paramount Plus launched in March 2021 (rebranded from CBS All Access which launched in 2014). The platform offers two plans, Essential ($4.99 per mo.) and Premium ($9.99 per mo.).
Both plans offer tens of thousands of TV show episodes and movies combined, NFL on CBS live, Top soccer like Champions League live, and 24/7 live news with CBS.
So, what is the difference between these two plans?
The Premium plan offers more live sports than Essential, your local CBS station live streaming, and the ability to download shows to watch later.
Perhaps most important though, is the Premium plan is ad-free with the exception of live TV and a few shows. The less expensive Essential plan has advertisements on all content.
By the way, if you are a Walmart Plus member Paramount Plus (Essential) will be free starting in September, 2022. Look into your Walmart Plus membership benefits for more information.
