Vidity is a consumer brand created by The Secure Content Storage Association (SCSA), a consortium of companies in entertainment and technology who partnered to evolve the home entertainment experience.
The technology provides up to 4k Ultra HD video quality (and HDR depending on studio/title) with no internet needed for playback once a title is downloaded to a Vidity storage device (like WD My Passport Cinema or Samsung portable drive).
The company was founded in January 2012 by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, SanDisk, and Western Digital.
FandangoNow exclusively uses Vidity for playback of titles eligible for download.
