2014 sci-fi action film Edge of Tomorrow (also known as Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow) starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt released was upgraded to 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray for release on July 5, 2022. The 2-disc edition from SDS includes a 4k Blu-ray, HD Blu-ray, and a Digital Copy of the film redeemable with Movies Anywhere partners. Here’s a review of the 4k presentation of Edge of Tomorrow.
Video
With excellent video quality that never breaks down even in the darkest of scenes, Edge of Tomorrow boasts deeper color depth from the HDR10 spec that improves the color to 10-bits up from the 8-bit Blu-ray. The 4k video is exceptionally sharp with a wide contrast ratio that will impress on even the largest screens where both qualities hold up well.
Audio
The Dolby Atmos soundtrack is reason enough to buy this thriller, providing an incredible immersive audio environment, especially in battle scenes. This is an improvement over the previous DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track on the 1080p Blu-ray release which was also excellent quality in its own right. But the Atmos provides a height element to the surround sound that is reference quality and a must-listen for audiophiles.
