[Updated Oct. 18, 2023] What channel is MotorTrend HD On? MotorTrend (formerly called Velocity Channel) can be found on most satellite TV providers as well as streaming services. The channel is available in HD (High Definition) and SD (Standard Definition).
MotorTrend primarily broadcasts automotive-themed programming such as Restoration Garage, Motor Shed Squad, and Two Guys Garage, as well as motorsports events and automotive auctions.
Velocity Channel was rebranded as MotorTrend as of November 23, 2018, following Discovery’s acquisition of a majority stake in MotorTrend’s magazine’s publisher. Here’s where you can find MotorTrend in HD (High Definition) where available.

History
MotorTrend was originally launched as Discovery HD Theater nationwide in the United States on June 17, 2002. The channel was rebranded to HD Theater five years later on September 22, 2007. In 2011, Discovery Communications announced that HD Theater would be re-launched as Velocity on October 4, 2011. In 2018, Discovery announced Velocity would be rebranded as MotorTrend on November 23, 2018.
