Disney will release Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Digital HD on April 1st, and Blu-ray Disc on April 5th, 2016.
We haven’t seen an official date for the 3D Blu-ray, DVD, or Ultra HD Blu-ray edition for 4k TVs. But the 2-disc Blu-ray edition does come with a DVD copy for playing in the car, laptop, or wherever else a BD player isn’t available.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray will come with an English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack, underscoring video formatted in 1080p at 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Extra Bonus Content
- Extras will include a full-length making-of documentary and exclusive deleted scenes.
- The 2-disc Blu-ray edition from Disney/Buena Vista will also come with a Digital HD copy redeemable with either UltraViolet or iTunes.
- Disney is also expected to release a 3D Blu-ray edition of the film, although we don’t have any confirmation of artwork or price yet.
