God of War: Ascension
We’re getting some juicy new nuggets about the recently announced God of War: Ascension, with the main one being the inclusion of multiplayer for the first time ever in a God of War game. Game director Todd Papy talked in length (see video here) this morning about the changes he and his Sony Santa Monica Studios team are making to the PlayStation franchise, including adapting the game engine for eight-player matches on five to seven maps. Series star Kratos will not be playable online, but of course he’s the focus of the single player campaign, as this prequel seeks to shed light on just why he became so angry.
Sony has officially announced God of War: Ascension after this teaser trailer leaked last night. Game director Todd Papy took to the PlayStation Blog today to reveal precious few details about the next chapter in Kratos’ book of badassery, but he does mention April 30 as the next date when more info will be available via Facebook.
