Apple TV owners will have access to NCAA’s March Madness

march-madness-logoWhen March Madness begins on March 15th the live action will be available to stream on several different platforms including Amazon Fire TV, Windows 10, Roku, Google Play, and now Apple TV.

The NCAA March Madness Live App is a free download from the associated online stores, but in order to watch the live streams and gain access to the entire app users will have to be authenticated with a paid TV subscriber.

The app, enabled by a partnership with Turner Broadcasting, will provide access to every game of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship live on PCs, smartphones and tablets.

To authenticate the app on Apple TV users will need to choose their TV service provider from a list provided. Popular supported providers include AT&T U-verse, Bright House, Charter Spectrum, Cox, DirecTV, Dish, Cablevision Optimum, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, and Comcast Xfinity, but there’s a much longer list available.

Then, users can login with the username and password associated with their TV provider. Once authenticated, the entire app content will be available including real-time brackets, live scores, video highlights and more.

Those without a TV service can also watch with a complimentary live video pass that will be interrupted with alerts. However, all games broadcast on CBS will be available without authentication.

Want to know what other options are available on Apple TV? Here’s a list of app channels on Apple TV.

  1. Comcast/xfinity and charter are not listed as a provider for the initial authentication, therefore you cannot watch using those providers on apple tv….Not shocked at all, the PIG will do anything to punish the cord cutters…..CBS local and all access will work. CBS local, will allow airplay without secondary audio feed (announcers). MM app, will allow airplay from the iphone, however the play button logo and airplay enable shows up in the middle of the screen if you used an xfinity login.
