Cinemax Channel Launches on Sling TV

Cinemax-2011-logoThis morning, Cinemax was added to the Sling TV lineup, marking the first time the premium network has been offered as an over-the-top service. The channel is available for an additional $10 per month to Sling TV customers who are already subscribed to either the “Best of Live TV” or any Sling International base packages.

On Sling TV, the Cinemax service includes a live channel as well as access to over 500 on-demand movies and TV shows such as Cinemax originals The Knick, Hunted, and Banshee.

Until the launch on Sling TV, Cinemax had only been available to cable or satellite TV customers who subscribe to the premium network.

Cinemax follows other networks such as HBO and Showtime who have launched over-the-top platforms.

“Over the past year, we’ve established a history of industry firsts, and the addition of Cinemax is evidence of our intent to uphold this swift innovative pace,” said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV.

Sling TV’s base package costs $20 per month (no contract required) and includes just over 20 networks such as ESPN, Cartoon Network, AMC, and CNN.

Here’s a list of the channels available on Sling TV.
